Job Purpose To assist the dentist effectively and efficiently in providing dental care to patients and to promote Familia Dental’s culture and mission and values. Responsibilities Welcome and escort patient in a professional and friendly manner from reception area to and from the treatment areas. Ensure treatment rooms are equipped and stocked with inventory and re-order when necessary. Take and record patient’s medical and dental histories and vital signs, blood pressure & pulse. Document/chart all dental procedures performed during each patient visit per Dentist’s instructions and legal requirements. Take and develop dental diagnostic x-rays. Pour and base diagnostic models and fabricate temporary restorations – as allowed by state law. Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials and assist Dentist during dental procedures. Provide dental education to patients to promote oral health and hygiene strategies. Notify Office Manager of equipment trouble or general safety concerns. Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews and regular office meetings. Demonstrate sensitivity to patients’ emotions and follow company policies and procedures and applicable laws. Perform other tasks as assigned. Qualifications/Skills Exceptional customer/patient service skills Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills Basic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software; Denticon experience is preferred. Working hours are typically between 7:30am and 7:30pm, Monday–Friday, and 8:30am to 5:00pm on Saturdays. Full-time employment: 4+ days a week, 30-40 hours per week, available to work Saturdays as needed, full shifts (8–10 hours) Part-time employment: 2+ days a week, 29 hours or less per week, available to work Saturdays as needed, multiple half-day shifts or fewer full-day shifts #J-18808-Ljbffr
