TITLE: SECURITY OFFICER

The Security Officer, under the direction of the Security Sergeant, executes and enforces the casino's procedures and controls. Security Officers assist in enforcing the casino's gaming regulations, policies, and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Patrols buildings of Eagle Mountain Casino to prevent and discover crimes, maintain order, and answer calls and complaints.
2. Escorts money, chip fills, machine and hand-written tickets carried by casino Team Members.
3. Observes and signs for opening of machines and stands guard on drop and count activities.
4. Assures safety of Team Members and guests while on casino property, and other areas of the Reservation as determined by management.
5. To always remain mobile in securing all areas of the casino.
6. Cooperate with, and enforce all regulations, laws, and procedures of all casino departments and outside law enforcement agencies.
7. Escort guests and Team Members; determined to be detrimental to the gaming operation on or off the casino premises when requested by authorized casino management and Gaming Agency personnel.
8. Ensure compliance of all departmental policies and procedures.
9. Must attend and be certified in all applicable training programs required.
10. All other departmental duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

1. The minimum age is 21.
2. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
3. Must have a valid California Guard Card.
4. A valid driver's license is preferred.
5. Displays willingness to make decisions; exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions; includes appropriate people in decision-making process.
6. Possess First Aid and CPR Certificate or obtain within 90 days of hire.
7. Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, and background check.
8. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
9. Excellent guest service skills.
10. Must have strong communication skills.
11. Must have strong report writing skills.
12. Must be professional, polite, and respectful towards guests and Team Members.
13. Must be able to handle extended hours when needed.
14. Must have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience, tact, and respect.
15. Law enforcement or security background preferred.
16. Ability to read, write clearly and informatively, and comprehend documents pertaining to security policies & procedures, rules and regulations, and operating instructions.
17. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
18. The ability to take directions and follow orders.
19. Able to obtain and retain a gaming license through the Tule River Tribe Gaming Commission.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL:

1. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to walk, talk, hear, stand, run, and sit.
2. Repeatedly required to use hand to finger, reach with hands, arms and handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
3. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
4. Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
5. Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
6. This position may require the movements and strength to incapacitate or subdue other persons for the protection of safety of self and others.
7. Must be able to perform in outdoor environments with frequent exposure to unpredictable weather conditions including heat, rain, cold and wind.
8. This job also may require the use of a vehicle; Team Member must be able to have those repetitive motions and coordination associated with operating a motor vehicle.
9. Must be able to work in a noisy and smoke-filled environment.
10. The noise level is moderate to high on the casino floor, or around equipment, fire trucks, lights, and sirens.
11. Exposed daily to flashing lights and ringing bells while on the casino floor.
12. Must be able to perform all essential duties of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
