Nurse Practitioner (or Physician Assistant)

SCMSC is looking for a full-time highly skilled experienced Nurse Practitioner preferably with Vascular/ General Surgery experience and a passion for patient care, to join our busy and growing practice. Willing to train and pay for training for candidates that are interested and have the desire to learn this field. This position is accountable for independently performing a full range of tasks to be an integral part of our team and provide patient care in our Sherman Oaks office and/or hospital based at area hospitals in San Fernando Valley.

This position offers competitive pay and the desired Monday-Friday schedule or 7 on- 7 off schedule (hospital based only) . You will focus on providing high-quality patient care as part of our healthcare team. We are hiring for 0 hospital position and 3 clinic positions.

Clinic: Sherman Oaks is the main location 4 days a week. 1 day a week at Porter Ranch satellite office, then rotating 1 day a week at Valencia satellite office every other week. Tarzana office opening soon.

Hospital: Rounding at Holy Cross, Northridge, Tarzana St Johns and St Joseph's.

Sign-on bonus is available for candidates with experience.

Schedule

• This is a FULL-TIME position with a work schedule of 40 hours for full-time employees.

Essential Functions

• Provide preventive, acute, and general care in a busy locally owned private clinic
• Assess and diagnose the patient's condition and develops and implement a treatment plan
• Administer treatments, perform physical examinations, and research medical histories.
• Order laboratory and diagnostic testing and interpret results, prescribe, administer, and dispense medications and other treatments
• Provide patient education and counseling
• Maintain patient health information records
• Coordinate treatment and makes appropriate referrals to other health providers as necessary and monitor patient outcomes, maintain safety, infection control, and quality of care standards
• Perform hormone replacement insertion procedures (*if needed; training will be provided)
• Maintain patient health information records
• Follow up on potential consults at the hospital
• Network with hospitalist to build referral relationships
• Round on patients in the hospital pre/post op
• Work with physicians to implement a treatment plan
• Perform all other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Considerable knowledge of anatomy and physiology
• Knowledge of different disciplines and disease states; knowledge of medication and their interactions and reactions
• Physical assessment skills; counseling skills; considerable interpersonal skills; oral and written communication skills
• Ability to perform minimally invasive procedures
• Ability to prioritize information and work independently
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to formulate plans of care

• Leadership and Mentor skills
• Experience in patient care management
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, visitors, healthcare teams, physicians, administrators, leadership, and others.

Required Experience/Abilities/Competencies

• Advanced degree as a Nurse Practitioner
• Licensed to practice in the State of California
• Current DEA/DPS registration
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience as a nurse practitioner
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, clinical practice standards, normal growth and development, and requirements of practice.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and agency standards.
• Current CPR certification
• Adhere to all agency and clinic policies and procedures.
• Ability to independently seek out resources and solve complex problems.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office and Outlook, as well as an electronic medical record system

Special Requirement

• A seasoned practitioner with experience in a leadership/mentor role is a plus
• Experience or willingness to learn other procedures

• Pay: $130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year based on experience.
