Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – School-Based Location: Dearborn, Michigan Term: Full 2026–2027 Academic Year (August 2026 – June 2027) Schedule: Full-Time, 35hours/week | Onsite Setting Options: K–12 District-Wide (Specific placements available in Elementary, Middle School, or specialized Autism Spectrum Disorder [ASD] programs) Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services to students within a vibrant Dearborn-area school district for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to eliminate communication barriers, support academic achievement, and foster social-emotional growth for a diverse student population. Core Responsibilities Direct Therapy: Deliver individualized and group speech-language therapy sessions addressing articulation, language, fluency, voice, and pragmatic skills aligned with student goals. Assessments & Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive screenings, diagnostic evaluations, and re-evaluations using current standardized assessment tools to determine eligibility for services. IEP Management: Develop, write, and implement measurable goals and objectives for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) using state compliance software. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Participate actively in IEP meetings, MET (Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team) discussions, and consult regularly with classroom teachers, program specialists, and parents. Specialized Support: Integrate low- and high-tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and visual support systems, particularly for students in specialized or ASD classrooms. Compliance Tracking: Maintain meticulous electronic documentation, including daily therapy logs, progress reports, and Medicaid billing data in accordance with state and district regulations. Required Qualifications & Compliance Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited university program. Licensure: Active (or processing) Speech-Language Pathologist Professional License issued by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CCC-SLP) is highly preferred. (Clinical Fellows / CFYs with strong school-based internship placement records will be considered). State-Mandated Training: Proof of completed Michigan LARA-compliant training in Implicit Bias (interactive) and Human Trafficking Identification . Clearances: Must pass a comprehensive Michigan State Police (MSP) and FBI fingerprint-based background check under the "School Employment" clearance code prior to the assignment start date. Preferred Experience Prior experience working within a Michigan public school setting or Intermediate School District (ISD). Familiarity with Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) regulations. Experience implementing data-driven pediatric interventions and managing a school-sized caseload (typically averaging 25–45 students depending on specialized program tracking).
