We currently operate in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Montana and Wyoming. The Portfolio Analytics Manager reports to the Director of Product Management.. A proactive, driven, and individually accountable steward of profit and growth across a portfolio of all lines and products. This position is a developer and coordinator of strategies and analytics to improve business unit-wide execution and results. Focus on driving improvements, coordination, and consistent approaches to areas such as portfolio pricing/underwriting strategies, information technology, improvements in decision support analytics, coordination and co-development of new predictive and pricing models, post monitoring, and reporting. Core partnership and influence across actuarial, underwriting, IT, sales, regulatory, product development, marketing, operations, and finance to align and add value to their strategy and execution. Location: This position will work remotely. The candidate must have high speed internet (internet speed test required) .

Hiring Range: $132,000-$149,064*

Salary Range: $132,000-$170,522

Responsibilities:

• Be the central owner of the commercial and farm data strategy. Coordinate with product, actuarial, IT, and the data warehouse to build detailed reports in excel and/or Power BI
• Independently identify, prioritize, and drive organizational focus on profit/growth opportunities.
• Build relationships and add value across core stakeholder departments (UW, Sales, Actuarial, IT, etc.).
• Effectively leverage data, analytics, and available supporting resources.
• Partner to drive analytics and capabilities to the point of execution.
• Oversee and maximize the value of potential strategies through prioritization management.
• Independently create influential presentations associated with day-to-day execution opportunities as well as broad strategic opportunities.
• Potential to manage entry level analysts in the future.

Qualifications: Required Skills/Abilities:

• Very strong analytic & project management capabilities.
• Expert knowledge of P&C insurance products. Commercial/farm is preferred, but personal lines experience would be entertained.
• Knowledge of predictive/pricing modeling methodology, and actuarial principles.
• Knowledge of Underwriting principles, methodology, and general theory.
• Expert use of PowerPoint & Excel.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, SAS, VBA, and other programming/data management.
• Translate analysis into coherent presentations & communication.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Actuarial, Business Admin, Mathematics, or related analytic disciplines.
• 5+ years of P&C experience in product management, actuarial, underwriting, or data science. Experience in portfolio managed products would also be entertained.
• Expert knowledge of insurance, actuarial principles, modeling, computer science & data manipulation.
• Experience with modeling and predictive analytics.
• All the following would be considered preferred:
  • Graduate degree and/or related professional designations (Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance)
  • Experience working with an independent agency channel distribution
  • Completion of some CAS exams

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, including video conferencing.
