About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 1 year Med/Surg experience required; Preference for 2 years License: Valid RN License required (pending license accepted, must provide ETA) Certifications: BLS required (will accept pending, must confirm willingness to obtain) Must-Have: - Must be available the first two weeks of orientation. - Must be willing to float to other Med/Surg units. - Must work every other weekend. - Must be willing to work with a variety of staff. Description: Holiday coverage is required. RTO during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing demands. Shifts of 36 or 48 hours per week available. Floating to other Med/Surg units may occur based on needs. The unit cares for a wide variety of patient types, including general medical diagnosis patients. The focus is on care for gastrointestinal, urological, and gynecological surgeries. Staffing ratios are 1:5-6 during nights but may flex to 8 patients with LPN support. A variety of staff work on this unit, including RNs, LPNs, and Techs. Floating typically occurs roughly once per week depending on unit needs. Patients include those with neurological disorders, elective total joint replacements, ortho fractures, and vascular disorders and surgeries. NIH special procedures are part of unit operations. Professional development modules are expected to be completed annually. All lab work must be scheduled within 48-72 hours of signing. Proof of flu vaccination is required, with medical exemptions accepted. Refer to the organization's policy for return staff after leaving. Documentation of onboarding requirements and compliance must be submitted as part of the onboarding process.
