Job Summary

Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse — Washington. The position provides critical care nursing for patients with cardiovascular and other intensive care diagnoses, including open-heart cases. The assignment primarily supports cardiovascular intensive care and may include rotation to other critical care units as operationally needed.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; active nursing license required for submission; minimum of 2 years of experience; cardiovascular intensive care and open-heart experience required.
• Schedule: Night shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week; every-other-weekend and holiday coverage required.
• Additional Information: The role primarily supports cardiovascular intensive care and may include floating to intensive care and progressive care units. Responsibilities include management of intensive care infusions, ventilated patients, and common critical care diagnoses. Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2 in intensive care and 1:3 in progressive care. An intensivist or hospitalist is available, with respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available around the clock. Floor-specific orientation includes a minimum of two shifts.
