Futamura USA is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our Electrical Maintenance Department. This position is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, calibration, and programming of industrial electrical, instrumentation, process control, and automation systems that support our manufacturing operation.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Controls Technician, Instrumentation Technician, Electrical Technician, Electrical Maintenance Technician, Industrial Electrician, or Industrial Maintenance Technician and be comfortable working with 480V electrical systems, motors and motor controls, PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), instrumentation, process controls, and industrial automation.

Futamura manufactures NatureFlex and Cellophane packaging films at our U.S. manufacturing facility. Our products are made from renewable wood pulp and provide biodegradable and compostable alternatives to traditional plastic packaging.

What You'll Do

• Install, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and modify industrial electrical systems, including 480V electrical systems, motors, motor starters, motor controls, and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical control circuits, instrumentation, process controls, and industrial automation systems.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, PLC input/output (I/O), control panels, wiring, sensors, switches, and associated control equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain variable frequency drives (VFDs), variable speed drives, motors, and motor control systems.
• Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain process instrumentation, including 3–15 psi pneumatic controls and 4–20 mA electronic instrumentation and control signals.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams), engineering drawings, equipment manuals, and technical instructions.
• Apply knowledge of electrical and electronic theory, instrumentation, process controls, and industrial automation to identify and correct equipment problems.
• Calibrate instrumentation and adjust, repair, or replace defective electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and control-system components.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration of electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment.
• Use applicable PLC programming, controls, and maintenance software to troubleshoot, program, monitor, and maintain equipment.
• Test electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and control systems and analyze results to determine required adjustments or repairs.
• Maintain system logs, maintenance records, calibration records, manuals, and other documentation.
• Follow all applicable electrical safety, machine safety, OSHA, and company safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

• Experience as a Controls Technician, Instrumentation Technician, Industrial Electrician, Electrical Maintenance Technician, Electrical Technician, or Industrial Maintenance Technician.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining 480V industrial electrical systems, including motors, motor starters, motor controls, and related equipment.
• Experience with PLCs, including PLC installation, wiring, troubleshooting, I/O, and programming.
• Experience with process control systems and industrial automation.
• Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs), variable speed drives, motor controls, and electrical control systems.
• Experience with industrial instrumentation, including calibration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with 3–15 psi pneumatic controls and 4–20 mA instrumentation and control signals.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, engineering drawings, and equipment manuals.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and control-system problems using appropriate test equipment and diagnostic methods.
• Strong commitment to electrical and workplace safety.
• Good attendance, dependability, and positive attitude.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while following established procedures, policies, and safety requirements.
• Must be able to work rotating 12-hour shifts , including both days and nights . Pay rate includes $2.50 shift differential.

Schedule & Working Environment

This position works in our Electrical Maintenance Department.

• The standard schedule consists of rotating 12-hour shifts, working 3 or 4 days per week . Shifts rotate between days and nights every 28 days . Pay rate includes $2.50 shift differential.

Safety Requirement: Employees in this position must be clean-shaven while working to ensure proper respirator fit and the ability to respond to an emergency requiring respiratory protection.
