Job Title Research Support Specialist Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in psychology, biology, neuroscience, or related field by the start date of the position. Experience working on a research study or with patients. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Familiarity with RedCap. Experience with imaging studies. Experience collecting biological samples. Brief Description of Duties The Research Support Specialist (RSS) will be part of a study team dedicated to improving the lives of those with mental illness. RSS will collaborate with clinicians, image analysts, and researchers in the Center for Understanding Biology using Imaging Technology (CUBIT). Within CUBIT, multiple brain imaging studies funded by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and other agencies are conducted to better understand, diagnose, and treat psychiatric illnesses like major depressive disorder. The RSS will manage a study funded by the NIMH with the goal of understanding the biology of depression, working with participants with and without major depressive disorder. As a key member of the CUBIT research team, responsibilities include recruiting participants, explaining the study, performing screenings, scheduling appointments, and maintaining participant data in electronic and written forms to ensure compliance with Institutional Review Board (IRB) policies. Duties Recruit, screen, and schedule research participants. Monitor research participants and ensure their safety and comfort. Ensure that supplies are available for the study. Present participant progress to the study team, including clinicians and researchers. Communicate with the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Process biological samples, including blood samples (training provided). Document research encounters. Perform other duties as assigned. FLSA Non‑Exempt position, eligible for overtime provisions.
