Hotel Valet Cashier - $14-$16/HR - Orlando Hotels

Summary The Cashier is responsible for accurately collecting and reconciling revenue while providing exceptional hospitality services to all guests in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. Compensation The hourly base pay range for this position is $14-$16 per hour. Work Schedule AM/PM. Essential Functions Maintains pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers, and clients (20%). Acknowledges and greets guests immediately while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor; addresses guests using last names when appropriate (including salutation of the day) (15%). Provides guests with directions and all other inquiries and information about outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, and main attractions in the area (10%). Determines guest charges and processes payments via cash, credit, or direct billing; accurately categorizes tickets for audit purposes; collects and reconciles revenue and furnishes payment receipts (20%). Completes accurate and timely shift reports; follows all standard operating procedures related to cash banks; operates equipment including registers, gates, and credit card machines; obtains information about daily events and rates (20%). Completes all tasks in a timely manner as instructed by the Lead Cashier/Account Manager (15%). Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED. Work Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and Skills: Basic math skills: read/write standard English, add/subtract three‑digit numbers, multiply/divide using units of American money. Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple correspondence. Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations. Understand 24‑hour and military time systems; understand rates applicable to time passed. Working Conditions & Physical Demands The role requires frequent sitting or standing for extended periods, walking, handling objects up to 50lb occasionally, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Repetitive tasks and environmental conditions such as heat and cold may occur. Travel up to 5% of time may be required.
