Cath Lab Tech

Job Summary:

This position is for a Cath Lab Tech responsible for assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment, setting up equipment, monitoring patients, and ensuring adherence to sterile techniques and infection control protocols. The tech will work 3x12 hour day shifts (0630-1900), with a requirement to work 2-3 weekends per contract. On-call duties are also required, rotating with staff and agency personnel.

Responsibilities:

- Assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Set up and operate equipment for procedures.
- Monitor patients during procedures, including interpretation of dysrhythmias.
- Assist with cardiac implant closure device, cardiac stent placement, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), and percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA).
- Assist with IABP placement/removal, rotablader athrectomy, and scrub procedures.
- Ensure adherence to sterile techniques and isolation precautions.
- Recognize and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias.
- Perform equipment setup.
- Provide care for middle and older adult patients.
- Document patient care activities accurately.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab.
- ACLS certification.
- BLS certification.
- ARRT certification.
- RCIS certification.
- Experience with Diagnostic Cardiac Cath lab and Interventional Cardiac Cath lab.
- Experience with Cardiac Implant Closure Device, Cardiac Stent Placement, Diagnostic Catheterizations Adult, IABP Placement/Removal, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Left heart catheterization, Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI), Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA), Right heart catheterization, Rotablader athrectomy, Scrub Procedures.
- Experience with Equipment setup, Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias.
- Experience with Isolation Precautions, Sterile Technique.
- Cerner experience required.

Special Considerations:

- On-call required as needed, rotating with staff and agency.
- Call frequency details to be discussed with manager, flexible per census.
- Will work 2-3 weekends per contract.
- RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.
- Guaranteed Hours: Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours.
