Distribution Center Associate

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Function Pick Assembles merchandise orders according to conditions on pick tickets Ensures all orders are picked unless a requested item is out of stock Knows the location of all merchandise within the distribution center Moves buggy to packing line Pack Pack merchandise according to customer requirements Seal cartons using tape or other materials Examine and inspect cartons and materials to ensure packing specifications are met Mark and label cartons using marking tools Stock Move stock from reserve warehouse to active warehouse Open cartons using cutting tool Ensure merchandise is placed in the proper location Breakdown boxes using cutting tool Other Read and understand pick tickets Maintain at least minimum productivity and quality standards while also following safety procedures Notify supervisor of shortages of materials and/or product Perform other warehouse duties as assigned POSITION DIMENSIONS Scope, Complexity, and Autonomy: Entry level job with little or no prior work experience Applies basic skills while developing specialized skills to perform routine tasks Work is routine and/or repetitive, completed with little autonomy Works within well‑defined procedures and/or instructions generally under regular supervision Decision‑Making Authority: Requires adherence to written or oral procedures, works under regular supervision; has freedom to develop new procedures with management approval Supervision Received: Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader Supervision Exercised: Responsible solely for individual work as part of a work team Principal Relationships/Key Contacts: Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader, Production Support I, II, IV POSITION SPECIFICATIONS Education and Certifications: High school diploma or its equivalent EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS More than six months but less than one year of relevant work experience preferred, but not required COMPETENCIES Listens and gets clarification Observes safety procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions, uses equipment and materials properly Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in all assigned tasks Completely work in a timely manner, works quickly Is consistently at work and on time Ability to properly use a scanner Ability to read small print labels Ability to count (math) Basic computer skills OTHER Special Considerations: Lift and or move up to approximately 50 lbs. frequently; bending, stooping, kneeling required frequently; routine standing of approximately 8 hrs per day; maneuvering equipment (buggy, hand jack); travel within and outside of the US; uses arms and hands This Company is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on race, color, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, religious creed, sexual orientation, pregnancy, national origin, ancestry, age, military and veteran status, marital status, physical or mental disability, protected medical condition, genetic information, reproductive health decision‑making, lawful off‑duty use of marijuana, or any other characteristic protected by law.
