Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Adult)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | 3x12-Hour Shifts | Rotating Days and Nights (7:00 AM–7:00 PM / 7:00 PM–7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required, if needed | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across all emergency diagnoses at a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
• Perform and manage IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV vasopressors
• Manage ventilator-dependent patients and assist with CPAP/BiPAP therapy
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage dysrhythmias as needed
• Care for patients presenting with CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• Conduct triage, maintain isolation precautions, and utilize special equipment including Bair hugger and rapid infuser; floating within skillset may be required

Required Qualifications

• Active New York single-state RN license required at time of submission (NY is not a Compact state; pending licenses not accepted)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required — must be included at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience required
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with adult and pediatric emergency care, including gunshot wounds and orthopedic trauma
• Familiarity with pediatric spinal cord injury management
• Prior travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers are accepted
