Computed Tomography Technologist

Become a vital part of a hospital-based emergency imaging team in Kannapolis, NC as an experienced Computed Tomography Technologist. You will perform CT, DX, and ultrasound imaging in a freestanding emergency department setting, follow physician scanning instructions, administer contrast agents as indicated, and operate CT and related imaging equipment to support urgent and emergent patient care. You will work independently and as part of a small radiology team to deliver timely diagnostic imaging for emergency presentations such as trauma, MVC, shortness of breath, falls, and suspected thromboembolic disease.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current ARRT(R) required. ARRT(CT) required for Dual Modality DX/CT technologist roles. ARDMS required for ultrasound technologist roles when applicable.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty required. ED or trauma experience highly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in an emergency imaging environment.
• Proficiency with CT scanning and CT stroke protocols.
• Experience with general ultrasound imaging (adult and pediatric), vascular (venous and arterial), small parts, and limited OB when applying for ultrasound responsibilities is preferred.
• Comfortable performing portable radiography and managing the x-ray room in a freestanding ED when applying for DX/Rad Tech duties.
• Experience using EPIC and PACS workflows preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional certifications such as ARRT(R)(CT) and ARDMS for multi-modality roles are preferred.
• Previous experience in a high-volume ED setting with combined DX, CT, and US imaging preferred.
• Familiarity with GE 16-slice CT scanners, Siemens Acuson Sequoia ultrasound systems, and Philips/Shimadzu radiography equipment preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Scheduled shift days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
• DX/CT technologist will be required to take scheduled call shifts: two days per month plus three 12-hour call shifts as described by the department.
• Workload includes average daily volumes approximately: DX ~40 exams, CT ~35 exams, Ultrasound ~10 exams.
• Typical team staffing: 23 technologists per shift (examples: one US technologist and two dual DX/CT technologists on first shift).

Contribute to timely diagnostic imaging in an emergency department that provides critical care to community members. You will support remote radiologist reads, collaborate with ED clinicians on stroke and trauma protocols, and help maintain rapid imaging turnaround for urgent diagnoses.
