Sr. Manager, Software Engineering

Job Summary The Sr. Manager; Software Engineering leads a team responsible for reviewing business requirements and developing functional and technical design documentation. This role oversees the design and implementation of testing procedures for APIs, abstractions, and integration patterns to address distributed computing challenges, including end-to-end and integration testing. The Sr. Manager participates in design reviews, providing input on requirements, product designs, schedules, and potential issues, and works across the team to ensure productivity, predictability, and delivery of high-quality results. The position includes accountability for code review, the team's development and testing activities, as well as participation in proof of concepts and technical evaluations of new technologies. The Sr. Manager is expected to foster a collaborative environment, ensuring the team meets business needs and delivers robust solutions. All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work. Key Responsibilities Review business requirements and develop functional and technical design documentation. Design and implement testing procedures for APIs, abstractions, and integration patterns, including end-to-end and integration tests. Participate in design reviews to provide input on requirements, product designs, schedules, and potential issues. Ensure team productivity, predictability, and delivery of high-quality results. Review code and maintain accountability for the team's development and testing activities. Participate in proof of concepts and technical evaluations of new technologies. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: 8+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience. Preferred Qualifications: 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD. Experience in reviewing business requirements and developing technical documentation. Experience in designing and implementing testing procedures for APIs and integration patterns. Experience in participating in design reviews and providing input on product designs and schedules. Experience in leading teams to ensure productivity and high-quality delivery. Experience in code review and accountability for development/testing activities. Experience in technical evaluations and proof of concepts for new technologies. Experience in managing distributed computing challenges. Experience in fostering team collaboration and meeting business needs. Experience in delivering robust solutions in a fast-paced environment. Experience in integrating emerging technologies into software engineering practices. U.S. Applicants Only Estimated salary range: $162,500.00 to $260,400.00 USD per year (may include potential sales incentive payments). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Bonus and equity may be eligible. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager. Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department. Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
