Manager, Structural Design & Analysis

About the Role As a Structural Design & Analysis (SDA) Manager, you will lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for the general structural integrity of pressure boundary components and reactor vessel internal (RVI) components, including ASME Section III stress and fatigue, and ASME Section XI flaw evaluations for Westinghouse and Combustion Engineering plant designs. The manager reports to the Director, Reactor Component Engineering, is located in Windsor, CT, and offers hybrid work options. Key Responsibilities Set performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and formal performance evaluations. Support career development through training plans, stretch assignments, and succession planning. Build a collaborative team culture that emphasizes technical thoughtfulness, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing. Manage hiring, onboarding, workload levelling, and retention of technical talent. Lead a team of engineers, overseeing performance management, career development, and hiring. Oversee work planning, prioritisation, and resource management across inspection support and ageing management projects. Ensure high‑quality delivery of engineering work products with internal quality processes and industry standards. Provide management‑level technical oversight. Promote continuous improvement, collaboration, and a safe and quality culture. Qualifications Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, such as mechanical, materials, nuclear, or a related field. 8+ years of experience in nuclear plant engineering. Expertise as a people manager or team lead, with responsibility for performance management and staff development. Compensation The base salary range for this position is estimated to be $130,400 to $163,000 per year, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills.
