Facilities Project Manager

The Facilities Project Manager utilizes experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems design and construction, with an emphasis on energy-efficiency projects. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating all phases of construction projects and facilities modifications, from the establishment of design concepts through construction administration.

Appointment Information:

• Budgeted Salary: $120,000 - $135,000/year. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.

Job Duties:

• 50% - Project Management
• 40% - Construction
• 5% - Program
• 5% - Administration

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Thorough working knowledge of building and construction practices, design, construction contract administration, and California Building Codes.
• Ability to administer a construction contract through all phases of construction.
• Comprehensive project management skills.
• Minimum six years progressively responsible experience in construction project management.
• Demonstrated technical familiarity with at least five MEP systems.
• Proven skills in problem recognition / avoidance / resolution.
• Detail-oriented to accurately proof contracts, plans, specifications, and other documents.
• Comprehensive written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
• Knowledge of and ability to use computer software, including Windows, MS Excel, MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of and ability to use project scheduling programs (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) and database software (FAMIS, Tririga, FileMaker, or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications:

• California Professional Engineer License
• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• LEED AP or Green Associate
• Familiarity with public works contract law and statutes.

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
• Selected candidate must pass the employment misconduct disclosure process.
• Must possess a valid license to drive in the state of California and participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) pull notice program.
• The selected candidate has the option to work a hybrid work schedule.
• Selected candidate will be required to complete training within established time frames as directed including UC compliance training.
