Job Description:\n\nJob Title: Shop or Field Technician\nPay: $21/hr plus overtime \nHours: First Shift starting at 5am \nMust be able to read tape measure \nLocation: Phoenix, AZ \nJob Description\nThis role involves working both in the shop and in the field to perform general labor, construction, and installation of metal and steel parts and panels for a variety of customers. You will assist in building, assembling, and preparing architectural, ornamental, and decorative metalwork, using hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery. The position requires flexibility to work indoors and outdoors, travel to different job sites, and shift between shop-based tasks and field installations as needed.\nResponsibilities\n\n Work in both the shop and the field performing general labor, construction, and installation duties related to metal and steel parts and panels.\n Assist in building and assembling metal and steel panels for various customers, including architectural, ornamental, and decorative metalwork.\n Use hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery such as grinders, sanders, saws, and cutting tools to work with metal, wood, and other raw materials.\n Accurately read and use a tape measure and combo squares to mark, measure, and verify dimensions for fabrication and installation.\n Operate saws and other cutting tools, including band saws and table saws, to cut wood, sheet metal, and other materials to specified sizes.\n Perform grinding, polishing, and sanding of metal components to achieve required finishes and prepare parts for installation or further fabrication.\n Carry out general clean-up of the facility to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area.\n Crate parts and components, including building wooden crates, to prepare materials for shipping or transport.\n Properly load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are secured and handled safely.\n Lift and move materials weighing 50 pounds or more, often in a hot environment and in both indoor and outdoor settings.\n Wrap pallets and apply shrink wrap to secure materials and finished products for storage or shipment.\n Perform sanding and prepping of metal surfaces prior to finishing or installation.\n Work as a shop hand, supporting production, cutting, grinding, sanding, and general labor tasks as needed.\n Travel to various job sites using your own vehicle when required, and perform installation and labor tasks on location.\n Participate in forklift training and obtain certification upon becoming a permanent employee, then safely operate forklifts as needed.\n\nEssential Skills\n\n Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure, with strong proficiency in measuring and marking materials.\n Experience using hand tools and power tools, including grinders, sanders, saws, and other cutting tools.\n Capability to use saws and other cutting tools to cut wood and other raw materials to precise dimensions.\n Familiarity with chop saws, sanders, and other electric tools used in fabrication and finishing.\n Ability to use combo squares and similar measuring tools for layout and alignment.\n Basic blueprint reading skills to understand fabrication and installation requirements.\n Experience working with sheet metal and other metal materials in a production or labor environment.\n Ability to perform grinding, polishing, and sanding on metal surfaces.\n Capacity to lift 50+ pounds safely and repeatedly, including in hot conditions.\n Willingness to train on a forklift and obtain certification upon becoming a permanent employee.\n Ability to properly load and unload trucks, including securing and handling materials safely.\n Skill in pallet wrapping and shrink wrapping to prepare materials and products for storage or transport.\n Reliability in performing general labor tasks such as landscaping-type work, cutting, grinding, sanding, and assisting welders.\n Must have a personal vehicle for transportation to and from the shop and job sites as needed.\n Comfort working in both indoor and outdoor environments, including at various construction and installation sites.\n\nAdditional Skills & Qualifications\n\n Experience as a welder helper, shop hand, or in similar metal fabrication or construction support roles.\n Experience in production, landscaping, or general labor environments involving hand and power tools.\n Exposure to architectural, ornamental, or decorative metalwork is a plus.\n Ability to perform general facility clean-up and basic maintenance tasks.\n Experience with crating parts, including building crates out of wood, is beneficial.\n Willingness to cross-train into other roles such as welding and glazing over time.\n Comfort working without air conditioning in a shop environment.\n Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety when working with tools, machinery, and heavy materials.\n\nJob Title: Construction Helper\nJob Description\nThe Construction Helper supports a variety of construction activities on a large industrial campus, including basic building tasks, material handling, site clean-up, and equipment rigging. This role involves working both indoors and outdoors, assisting with the construction of cleanroom sublayers, and using hand and power tools to build and install structural components and tools. The position is physically demanding, requires consistent adherence to safety procedures, and offers extensive hands-on training with opportunities to grow into more advanced roles over time.\nResponsibilities\n\n Build grid structures using a variety of hand and power tools in accordance with project specifications and safety guidelines.\n Assist with wall penetrations and the construction of floors, walls, ceilings, and other sublayers of cleanrooms.\n Perform basic construction tasks such as building structures, installing racks, and assisting with tool installation.\n Organize materials on the job site, dispose of debris, and perform general clean-up to maintain a safe and orderly work area.\n Use hand and power tools for cutting, fastening, measuring, and assembly as directed by supervisors and leads.\n Support material handling activities, including moving racking systems and heavy equipment associated with tool installation.\n Assist with rigging heavy equipment safely under guidance, following established procedures and safety standards.\n Work within a buddy system at all times to promote safety, communication, and teamwork on the job site.\n Lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.\n Work in outdoor environments in both hot and cold weather, as well as in cleanroom environments when required.\n Follow all site-specific safety rules and procedures, including those related to tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.\n Participate in training to learn how to operate forklifts and scissor lifts, and apply this training to daily work once qualified.\n Use measuring tools such as tape measures and levels to support accurate construction and installation work.\n Assist with loading, unloading, and staging materials and equipment for ongoing construction activities.\n Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, store them properly, and ensure they are secure when not in use.\n Communicate effectively with team members, leads, and supervisors to understand daily tasks, priorities, and safety expectations.\n Support landscaping or general labor tasks as needed to keep the worksite clean, organized, and safe.\n\nEssential Skills\n\n Previous experience performing manual labor or general construction tasks, such as basic building, assembly, or site clean-up in residential or commercial settings.\n Ability to use common hand tools safely and effectively, including hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, snips, and tape measures.\n Comfort working in basic construction roles that involve building structures, installing racks, and assisting with tool installation.\n Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn how to operate equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts.\n Capability to move materials and assist with rigging or using equipment to relocate heavy items.\n Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly during the workday.\n Willingness to work in outdoor conditions, including heat and cold, as well as in cleanroom environments when required.\n Strong commitment to following safety rules and procedures at all times.\n Ability to work effectively in a buddy system and contribute positively to a team-oriented environment.\n Basic understanding of using a tape measure and level to support accurate construction work.\n Willingness to work early morning shifts and be open to overtime, including Saturdays.\n\nAdditional Skills & Qualifications\n\n OSHA 10 certification is preferred; training will be provided if not already obtained.\n Experience on clean-up crews, either residential or commercial, is beneficial.\n Prior experience moving materials using rigging techniques or forklifts is helpful.\n Comfort working in cleanrooms and wearing specialized protective clothing such as a bunny suit when required.\n Basic knowledge of framing, assembly, and production-related construction tasks is an advantage.\n Experience with landscaping or general labor work is useful.\n Demonstrated reliability and punctuality for early morning start times.\n Ability to learn and follow detailed instructions related to construction, rigging, and equipment operation.\n Interest in developing a long-term career in the construction industry with potential advancement into lead, supervisor, or project management roles.\n\nWhy Work Here?\nThis opportunity offers consistent work with substantial overtime potential, providing strong earning opportunities and long-term job stability. Employees work on a 60-60-50 schedule, Monday through Friday, with a typical start time of 5:00 a.m., and must be open to working Saturdays and 10–15 hours of overtime per week. Work is performed using a buddy system to enhance safety and support, and the site promotes a helpful, team-oriented atmosphere. Some tasks take place outdoors in varying weather conditions, while others occur inside cleanrooms where specialized attire, such as a bunny suit, may be required. The environment is highly safety-focused, with structured training and clear procedures. Common tools used include claw hammers, plastic hammers, vise grips, combination and socket wrenches, flat and Phillips screwdrivers, side cutters (tin snips), levels, tape measures, crescent wrenches, channel lock pliers, combination squares, Allen sets, flat bars, and a lockable plastic toolbox. Employees may also work around forklifts, scissor lifts, racking systems, and heavy equipment associated with tool installation and rigging.Job Type & Location\nThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.Pay and Benefits\nThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.\nIndividual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.\nEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
