Senior Mechanical Engineer - Medical Devices

GE HealthCare seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of neonatal care equipment, including incubators and warmers. The role involves managing complex mechanical systems from concept through production, working across thermal management, structural design, and regulatory compliance for medical devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts from concept development through production launch
• Develop solutions for thermal, structural, and electromechanical challenges in neonatal devices
• Conduct FEA, thermal analysis, and tolerance analysis; drive design for manufacturability
• Lead mechanical risk assessments, design FMEAs, and verification testing activities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers on technical reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 8+ years developing complex products from concept to production
• Expertise in 3D CAD, GD&T, FEA, and design for manufacturing
• Experience with injection-molded plastics and mechanical verification
• Medical device or regulated industry experience preferred
• Knowledge of IEC 60601, ISO 14971, and design control processes preferred
• Thermal system design and mechanism design experience preferred
