$68-$75 per hour 

SCHEDULE

9/80 Schedule. Monday- Friday ( 40 hrs per week) 

CONTRACT TERM

6 month long contract with high likelihood of extension or conversion to a full-time employee 

POSITION OVERVIEW – Category Manager-Supply Chain

The main function of a category manager is to be responsible for procurement strategies and tactics for a focused product or service area, ensuring business requirements are fulfilled and value is optimized across multiple businesses. Also accountable for the overall development and implementation of sourcing strategies and supply market intelligence in their area of responsibility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting to track supplier performance, savings, budgets, category initiatives, and execution progress.
• Coordinate supplier engagement activities, including executive sponsor meetings, strategic supplier reviews, and industry events.
• Support relationship building between suppliers, category teams, asset SCM teams, and business stakeholders to foster collaboration and improve outcomes.
• Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of Competitive Performance initiatives and other value delivery opportunities.
• Identify and remove execution barriers, helping teams make decisions and deliver results faster.
• Support special projects, workshops, and cross-functional initiatives that improve category performance.
• Drive standardization of tools, templates, reporting, and best practices across the Wells Category Teams.
• Lead relationship health assessments and identify opportunities to improve service levels, communication, and ways of working.
• Maintain and improve team digital platforms, document repositories, and audit-ready records.
• Champion the use of AI and digital tools to automate work, streamline processes, and improve team productivity.
• Share lessons learned and best practices across the Wells organization to promote continuous improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of experience minimum
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management or a related field required
• A strong commercial and analytical background, negotiation skills, interpersonal skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
• Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement, and meeting facilitation skills.
• Action-oriented with a focus on speed, execution, and delivering commitments.
• Safety awareness with high level of passion for engaging people to put safety first.
• Ability to build rapport with Management within Global Supply Chain.
• Continuous improvement mindset and interest in leveraging AI and digital tools to improve business outcomes.
