Beachway New Jersey is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Clinical Director to support the leadership and day-to-day operations of our clinical program serving individuals with substance abuse disorders and co-occurring disorders.

Overview of Open Position

The Assistant Clinical Director will work closely with the Clinical Director to support clinical operations across Partial Care, Intensive Outpatient, and Outpatient levels of care. The Assistant Clinical Director will help ensure services are delivered consistently, ethically, and in accordance with organizational standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the Clinical Director in overseeing day-to-day clinical operations and delivery of services
• Provide guidance, support, and clinical supervision to therapists and other clinical team members, as appropriate
• Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of clinical staff
• Review clinical documentation for quality, completeness, timeliness, and compliance
• Support treatment planning and ensure services are individualized and clinically appropriate
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and case consultations
• Assist with managing complex clinical cases and addressing barriers to treatment
• Conduct individual and group therapy as needed
• Facilitate clinical assessments and support appropriate level-of-care and treatment recommendations
• Promote the integration of family systems into the treatment and recovery process
• Support the implementation of trauma-informed and evidence-based clinical practices
• Collaborate with clinical, medical, case management, and administrative teams to support continuity and quality of care
• Help maintain clinical readiness for audits, licensing reviews, and accreditation activities
• Ensure ethical clinical practices, including confidentiality, professional boundaries, and appropriate documentation
• Provide clinical leadership and coverage in the Clinical Director's absence, as assigned
• Stay current on clinical best practices, regulatory requirements, and developments within the mental health and substance use treatment fields

Ideal Candidate Criteria

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field
• Current New Jersey clinical licensure, such as LCSW or LPC, strongly preferred
• LCADC or experience treating substance use and co-occurring disorders is a plus
• Previous clinical leadership, supervisory, or program management experience preferred
• Experience working within Partial Care, IOP, OP, or other behavioral health treatment settings preferred
• Strong understanding of clinical documentation, treatment planning, and ethical standards
• Experience with trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment approaches
• Training or experience in DBT, CBT, family systems, EMDR, motivational interviewing, experiential therapy, relapse prevention, or other evidence-based modalities is preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment environment
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical integrity and client care
