Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Travel)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with up to 101 beds and patient ratios of typically 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
• Work collaboratively with techs, cardiac monitoring unit staff, triage personnel, and unit clerks across all sections of the ED
• Utilize Cerner for clinical documentation and Baxter pumps and GE monitors for patient care
• Adhere to patient experience standards including AIDET, respectful behavior, and keeping patient boards updated throughout each visit
• Demonstrate flexibility to float to all sections within the Emergency Department as needed
• Maintain all required certifications prior to start date: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS; ENPC required within 90 days of hire

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required before start date
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2+ years of experience in a Level II trauma center or comprehensive stroke center
• Experience in a high-volume Emergency Department (100,000+ annual visits)
• Previous experience with HCA facilities
• Familiarity with Cerner documentation system
