Project Manager, Transformation Office

Job Summary:The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and supporting the successful delivery of internal projects and client engagements across BDO. This role serves as a central point of contact for project teams, engagement and firm leaders, clients, and other stakeholders, helping to ensure project objectives, timelines, budgets, risks, progress reporting, and deliverables are managed in a disciplined and transparent manner. The Project Manager promotes quality, accountability, collaboration, and an exceptional experience for both BDO professionals and clients.Job Duties:Project Planning, Execution & DeliveryDevelops, maintains, and monitors detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, workstreams, dependencies, deliverables, and resource needs throughout the project lifecycleCoordinates project execution from initiation through close, helping teams establish clear roles, responsibilities, decision points, communication routines, and expectationsTracks project tasks and deliverables to promote timely completion, accountability, and visibility into project progressSupports project budget management by monitoring budget-to-actual performance, resource utilization, engagement economics, and potential scope or pricing considerationsHelps teams apply project management practices that support quality, timely delivery, risk management, stakeholder alignment, and continuous improvementStakeholder Communication, Reporting & GovernanceServes as a primary project management contact for assigned projects or client engagements, working with internal teams, engagement leaders, clients, and stakeholders regarding project progress, risks, issues, and next stepsIdentifies, documents, monitors, and escalates project risks, issues, decisions, changes, and dependencies to the appropriate leaders or stakeholdersPrepares and distributes project communications, meeting agendas, notes, status reports, dashboards, executive updates, and other project documentationFacilitates internal and external project meetings, including preparing materials, documenting key outcomes, and following up on action itemsBuilds and maintains strong working relationships with engagement teams, clients, management, and cross-functional stakeholdersBusiness Outcomes, Continuous Improvement & Team LeadershipTracks and monitors realization of project objectives, success metrics, adoption measures, and business outcomes after implementationPartners with project sponsors to define and measure expected benefits and reports progress against those commitmentsPromotes consistent use of BDO project management tools, templates, reporting standards, and related resourcesContributes to process improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline project delivery, improve communication, enhance reporting, and strengthen project governancePerforms other duties and supports special projects as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities:May supervise, coach, or coordinate the work of project coordinators, associates, seniors, or other team members assigned to projects or client engagementsMay review work products, provide feedback, support workload planning, and help team members understand project management expectations and deliverable standardsDemonstrates strong client service, professionalism, responsiveness, and sound judgment in interactions with internal and external stakeholdersLeads by example and fosters a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-oriented project environmentCommunicates effectively at all levels, translating complex project information into clear, actionable updates for project teams and leadershipAnticipates project needs, proactively identifies barriers, and recommends practical solutions to keep work moving forwardFacilitates decision-making by identifying impacts, dependencies, resource constraints, and risksHelps project teams remain focused on priority outcomes, quality expectations, and timely deliverySupports team members by clarifying expectations, encouraging effective collaboration, and helping remove obstacles to executionTravelTravel may be required based on client, engagement, project, or practice needsQualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:EducationBachelor’s degree, required; focus in business, accounting, finance, management, information systems, preferredExperienceFive (5) or more years of work experience in a professional setting, requiredExperience managing projects, programs, client engagements, operations, transformation initiatives, or client-facing professional services work, preferredExperience developing and maintaining project plans, timelines, status reports, RAID logs, action item trackers, meeting materials, and executive-level update, preferredLicense(s)/Certification(s)Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Agile, Scrum, Lean Six Sigma, or similar project management certification, preferredSoftwareProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Planner and project tracking or collaboration tools such as Smartsheet, preferredCertified Change Management Professional (CCMP), preferredExperience with Microsoft CoPilot and other AI tools, preferredLanguage(s)N/AOther Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong understanding of project management methods, including planning, execution, monitoring, risk management, issue escalation, stakeholder communication, and project closeoutAbility to manage multiple priorities, workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare polished, concise, and audience-appropriate project -level communicationsStrong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to drive follow-through and accountability across teamsAbility to analyze project information, identify trends or risks, and recommend practical next stepsAbility to build relationships, influence without direct authority, and work effectively with professionals at varying levels of the organization At BDO, how we show up matters.
