In this role, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, all while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and numerous educational resources offered within the Cleveland Clinic system./ppA caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m./ppA caregiver who excels in this role will:/pulliProvide professional nursing care to patients./liliAdminister medication./liliMaintain complete, accurate and up-to-date documentation in medical records and files./liliComplete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions./liliImplement pain management assessments and documentation./liliAdhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO./liliFollow Code Blue protocol./li/ulpMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:/pulliGraduate of an accredited LPN program/liliFlorida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license/liliBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross/liliKnowledge of infection control practices/liliExperience with technology/liliComputer literacy/li/ulpPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:/pulliOne year of outpatient clinical experience/liliAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross/liliExperience in Cardiology/li/ulpPhysical Requirements:/pulliThis position requires knowledge of all aspects of patient care including assessing; planning, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the patients progress through the entire continuum of care in conjunction with the R.N. or physician./liliThis position requires frequent walking, sitting, and standing./liliFrequent talking and listening when giving instructions and explanations./liliFrequent use of the phone; fax machines, and occasional use of the computer./liliWork is heavy, with constant lifting and moving patients, carrying equipment, supplies, and material up to 50 pounds without help and over 50 pounds with the help of mechanical devices or other personnel./liliYou will be stooping, pushing, and pulling when moving a patient into position for treatment; also you will be reaching, handling, feeling, and manipulation of equipment into position./liliThe majority of the time employee spends indoors in air-conditioned areas./liliThe potential for exposure to blood and blood-borne pathogens is significant./liliClinical exposure to patients requires the use of personal protective equipment./li/ulpPersonal Protective Equipment:/pulliThis position is high exposure to infectious wastes such as blood and bodily fluids that mandate the wearing of gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles as appropriate./liliFollows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures./li/ulpThe policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
