Overview

Physical Therapy Billing Services is looking for a detail-oriented professional to join our Billing Operations team as a Billing Support Associate. This role is best suited for an organized, process-driven, & tech-savvy candidate!

This is a technical, back-office position focused on medical billing and coding; no prior experience is required, and we’ll provide comprehensive training for the right candidate!

If you’ve worked in high-volume customer service, retail management, administrative support/leadership, or billing roles, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note: This is a back-office, administrative position and does not directly work in a doctors office.

Your Role

• Accurately process and manage billing for medical services in compliance with current regulations.
• Apply ICD-10 and ICD-9 codes to diagnoses and procedures (training provided!).
• Consistently review and update patient accounts, ensuring billing accuracy.
• Communicate with insurance companies about claims, denials, and appeals.
• Follow up with patients and insurers on outstanding balances.
• Maintain clear and organized records of transactions, payments, and invoices.
• Partner with medical office staff to resolve billing questions.
• Keep informed on billing regulations and updates in medical coding practices.

• Strong attention to detail & the ability to spot inconsistencies.
• Excellent communication skills - comfortable speaking with clients and insurance providers over the phone and via email.
• Strong organizational skills & the ability to manage multiple priorities/pipeline of tasks.
• A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, & a commitment to high-quality work.
• Proficiency with computers & comfort working on them daily.

Bonus skills! (But not required)

• Experience in high-level customer service, management, or leadership roles are highly valuable!
• Experience in billing, medical administration, or a support role.
• Familiarity with ICD-10/ICD-9, DRG, and/or medical collections.
• Knowledge of billing software or EHR systems.
