Job Purpose:

Perform scaffolding duties involved in truck loading, unloading, storage, and maintenance of yard and yard materials, and sandblast materials as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Load and unload trucks, store materials, and perform various assigned tasks.
2. Possess the skill to assess weights and judge distances and heights.
3. Stage and load materials and equipment, ensuring the exact number and correct items are loaded.
4. Responsible for strapping and securing loads onto flatbed trailers'
5. Crate, band, and shrink wrap materials in preparation for shipping.
6. Organize and maintain the shoring yard property.
7. Perform sandblasting of all equipment before sending it to the shop for maintenance or painting.
8. Perform minor maintenance on sandblast equipment.
9. Coordinate with the fabrication and welding shop foreman when sandblasting materials or supplies are needed.
10. Maintain a clean work area.
11. Observe and follow all mandatory safety procedures, including the use of all personal protective equipment (PPE)
12. Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to mechanics and servicing and be subject to temporary assignment with other supervisors.

Essential Requirements:

• Must be organized and detail oriented.
• Must possess the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Experience loading materials and equipment of different sizes and weights onto a flatbed trailer

Preferred Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Construction or other outdoor labor experience
• Ability to drive a forklift or learn.
• Welding experience or desire to learn.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License

Other requirements:

• Has dependable transportation
• Ability to pass a respirator fitting test as required.

Working Conditions:

• Primarily works outside and exposed to the elements.
• Exposed to hazardous materials.
• Exposed to frequent loud noises.
• Exposed to dangerous machinery.
• Generally, works five 8-hour days, although overtime may occur.
