Overview
Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) travel assignment in San Luis Obispo, California. Start date 09/21/2026 for a 10-week assignment with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Shift is 16-hour days with rotating start times. The assignment is in a short-term acute care hospital setting. This travel position is managed by Healthforce Healthcare LLC. Weekly pay ranges from $492 to $521. The facility is a 162-bed acute care site with a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and trauma designation.

Responsibilities
- Circulate during surgical procedures, coordinating equipment, supplies, and sterile technique
- Support the anesthesiology team and surgeons while protecting patient safety throughout the perioperative phase
- Prepare the operating room, ensure proper setup, and verify the functionality of all surgical instruments and equipment
- Contribute to preoperative and postoperative patient care planning and assessment following department criteria
- Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials; document procedures and utilize the electronic health record
- Maintain readiness for emergent situations, participate in life-safety and equipment checks, and support unit operations as needed

Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of practice (California)
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Experience: at least 1 year of recent operating room experience; ortho, neuro, and trauma exposure required
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
- Specialty certifications: Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) preferred
- Additional: EPIC/EHR experience required; ability to circulate in the OR and work in a team-based, fast-paced environment
