Job Description:

We are seeking a versatile and highly skilled Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse for an exciting travel contract at Dickinson Hospital in Iron Mountain, MI. This unique role is perfect for a well-rounded surgical nurse, as it combines core OR circulating duties with cross-coverage in Pre-Surgery (PATT) and PACU.

Facility Details & Unit Highlights:

• Facility: Dickinson Hospital Iron Mountain
• Unit Layout: 4 OR suites (running 3 concurrently; averaging 9 cases/day)
• Scope of Practice: Circulating only (No scrubbing required)
• Charting System: Paragon
• Dress Code: Conveniently hospital-provided surgical scrubs!
• Orientation: Comprehensive 1-week department-specific orientation.

Clinical Case Specialties:

Candidates must be comfortable navigating a diverse community case mix:

• General Surgery & Orthopedics
• OB/GYN & Urology
• Podiatry
• Cardiology (including pacemakers and lead revisions)

On-Call Expectations:

• Rotated weeknight, weekend, and holiday call requirements.
• Call Response Window: Must be highly localized during call—requires a strict 30-minute or less arrival-to-incision response time for STAT cases.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1–2+ years of recent acute care OR experience plus proficiency/comfort assisting in Pre-Op and PACU environments.
• Active Michigan RN License.
• Current BLS certification.
• Strict Radius Rule: Permanent tax address must be 80+ miles away from the facility to qualify for the full travel package.
