Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Grayson County SSA. This full‑time position involves providing support to students with diverse learning needs in a classroom environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and other professionals to facilitate an inclusive learning atmosphere that promotes academic and social development for students with disabilities. Responsibilities Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs. Provide one‑on‑one or small group support to students, helping them with academic tasks and social interactions. Monitor and document student progress, behavior, and any concerns, reporting findings to the teacher. Support the development of students' life skills, including communication, self‑care, and social skills. Collaborate with educational staff to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom activities. Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment. Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required. Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents regarding student progress and needs. Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including confidentiality and ethical standards. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred. Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is highly desirable. Knowledge of special education practices, including IEPs and behavior management strategies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the growth and development of students with disabilities. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to changing classroom dynamics. Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology. Must pass background checks and any additional screenings as required by state and school district regulations. CPR and First Aid certification is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
