Manufacturing Facilities Technician

Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking a skilled Manufacturing Facilities Technician to join their client's dynamic team in California. This hands-on role is pivotal in supporting the operation, maintenance, and reliability of critical facility infrastructure within a high-tech manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining facility equipment and utilities, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, and ensuring safe, efficient facility operations.

Responsibilities

• 
  Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on facility systems, including HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, air compressors, plumbing systems, and exhaust systems.
  
  



• 
  Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot Building Management Systems (BMS), responding to alarms and performance issues as needed.
  
  



• 
  Support troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems throughout manufacturing, cleanroom, warehouse, and office environments.
  
  



• 
  Assist with operation and maintenance of facility utilities, including chilled water systems, hot water systems, compressed air systems, process utilities, DI water systems, and process gas systems.
  
  



• 
  Perform equipment startups and shutdowns.
  
  



• 
  Replace filters, lubricate moving components, and calibrate meters, sensors, and monitoring equipment.
  
  



• 
  Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  
  



• 
  Respond to facility alarms, equipment failures, and emergency maintenance requests.
  
  



• 
  Coordinate with contractors and vendors performing maintenance and repair work while ensuring compliance with site procedures and safety standards.
  
  



• 
  Follow all company safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and confined space procedures.
  
  



• 
  Support continuous improvement initiatives related to facility reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
  
  



• 
  Perform additional duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

Required

• 
  High school diploma or equivalent required; technical trade school certification or Associate's degree preferred.
  
  



• 
  2-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, plant maintenance, or related technical fields.
  
  



• 
  Working knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, chilled and hot water systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
  
  



• 
  Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, equipment manuals, and blueprints.
  
  



• 
  Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  
  



• 
  Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, meters, and maintenance equipment.
  
  



• 
  Basic computer skills for documentation, system monitoring, and online training.
  
  



• 
  Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
  
  

Preferred

• 
  Experience in semiconductor, cleanroom, pharmaceutical, biotech, advanced manufacturing, or other high-tech environments.
  
  



• 
  Experience using CMMS platforms, including Maintenance Connection or similar systems.
  
  



• 
  EPA Refrigerant Certification, Forklift Certification, Confined Space Entry Certification.
  
  



• 
  Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  
  



• 
  Familiarity with energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.

Required Work Hours

Monday through Friday, first shift.

Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $35.00 to $48.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
