You can build relationships with patients, work as part of a supportive team, and enjoy a better balance between work and life outside the clinic.The Physical Therapist Clinician II is primarily responsible for the delivery of physical therapy care to the patient population to which she/he is assigned and the recording of that care in the hospital medical record. The therapist acts as a consultant to various patient populations. The Physical Therapist Clinician II provides instruction to OT/PT support staff, PT students, personnel of other disciplines within VCUHS, and patient and/or family members. Therapists may rotate through our various clinical service areas.Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Licensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical TherapistLicensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice areaExperience REQUIRED: Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Physical TherapistExperience PREFERRED: N/AEducation/training REQUIRED: Graduate of an accredited School of Physical TherapyEducation/training PREFERRED: Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Physical Therapy Successful challenge of the VCUHS Physical Therapy Clinical LadderIndependent action(s) required: Patient evaluation and implementation of intervention programs, discharge planning. Ordering equipment. Representing department at rounds and discharge conferences. Scheduling and charging patients. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): Employee may have supervisory responsibilities of Physical Therapist Assistants, Patient Care Technicians, students, and volunteers. Employee is a senior member of a self-directed team and applies his knowledge and experience in daily clinic problem solving.
