Certified Medical Assistant

About the Role We are seeking a reliable and patient-focused Medical Assistant to support the daily operations of our clinic in Mifflintown, PA. This role is critical to delivering high-quality, efficient care in a rural community setting. The Medical Assistant will work closely with the Family Nurse Practitioner and broader care team to ensure a seamless patient experience from intake through follow-up. Key Responsibilities Prepare patients for examinations, including taking and documenting vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints Assist the provider during examinations and procedures Perform basic clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection as needed Administer medications and vaccines in accordance with state guidelines and clinic protocols Manage patient flow, room turnover, and ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready Coordinate referrals, follow-ups, and patient communications Support front desk operations as needed, including scheduling and patient check-in/check-out Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and clinic policies Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or outpatient setting preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment Comfortable working in a rural healthcare setting with a high degree of autonomy Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the position, including prolonged standing, walking, occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, and assisting with patient care in a clinical environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
