Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1.5 years preferred License: Active state LPN license or compact license required Certifications: BLS required, must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment Must-Have: - Pass EKG competency assessment before starting - Ability to read and interpret strips - Experience in a level 1 or 2 facility preferred - Travel experience preferred - EPIC experience required Description: The unit consists of 20-21 beds. Patients require less acute care, leading to higher patient ratios. This setting is similar to a nursing home environment. No telemetry monitoring is available. Blood products and Bipap use is limited to long-term cases. For 48-hour contracts, overtime is paid after 48 hours. Staff may engage in a team nursing model where RNs, LPNs, and PCTs collaborate to care for patients. The goal is to enhance patient care and manage workload efficiently. Nurses may function in team nursing or primary nursing based on the unit's needs. Travelers will be the first to float at management's discretion. Floating may occur within specialty clusters or to other units based on needs. All travelers must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. The facility reserves the right to cancel shifts due to low census with notice. Travelers are ineligible for employee incentives. Patients on this unit are in long-term care awaiting guardianship, placement, or insurance approval. These patients do not meet criteria for inpatient admission or observation. They require custodial care and cannot be discharged safely from other facilities. Navy blue scrubs are required. Requests for time off must be made with application submission. No additional time off requests will be accepted after an offer is made. References are not required. Candidates must have the ability to float to other units as needed. Charting experience with EPIC is necessary for this nursing role. Any candidate with past license disciplinary action will not be accepted.
