- Job Title: CNC Lathe Machinist
- Pay Rate Range: $40.00-$50.00/hour
- Location: Hampton, MN
- Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM
- Position Type: Direct Hire
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications, and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and tooling geometry.
- Expertise in using precision measurement tools.
- Familiarity with various CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Haas).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
- Experience with G-Code and M-Code programming or Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software.
- Experience with multi-axis or live tooling lathe machines.
- Setup and Program:
- Set up and operate CNC lathes (including loading programs, tooling selection, offset adjustments, and fixture setup).
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining operations, sequences, and dimensional specifications.
- Perform machine start-up and shut-down procedures.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Part Production and Quality:
- Machine parts to required specifications and within tight tolerances.
- Monitor the machine during operation, adjusting feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cut as needed.
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot any machine malfunctions or quality issues that arise during the machining process.
- Maintenance and Safety:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on CNC lathes to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety regulations and procedures.
- Replace worn tools and inserts as necessary.
- Program and Documentation:
- Make adjustments to existing CNC programs (e.g., offsets, minor edits) at the machine control.
- Accurately complete all necessary production documentation, logs, and reports.
