The position offers a broad procedural mix, meaningful autonomy within a medically supervised model, manageable call, and an exceptional vacation package.Why This Opportunity Stands OutTypical schedule of approximately 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.Full-time and part-time opportunitiesover 9 weeks of vacation for the full-time positionCompetitive salary with additional call-pay stipendMalleable call rotationLimited trauma volumeRelocation assistanceForgivable educational-loan assistanceContinuing-education supportCollaborative Anesthesiologist and CRNA teamThe Anesthesia DepartmentThe incoming CRNA will join a close-knit department consisting of:More than 4 CRNAsAnesthesiologistsApproximately 200 cases per monthApproximately 10-15 births per monthCRNAs practice with flexibility and professional independence while benefiting from physician availability and a medical-supervision structure.Clinical Case MixThe surgical program offers clinical variety without open-heart or intracranial cases.Approximate case distribution:General Surgery, Ophthalmology, and UrologyOrthopedicsObstetrics and GynecologyAdditional surgical servicesThe remaining case mix may include pediatric and thoracic anesthesia, excluding open-heart procedures.Clinical ResponsibilitiesThe CRNA will provide safe anesthesia care throughout the perioperative process, including:Reviewing patient histories and completing pre-anesthesia assessmentsDeveloping anesthesia plans based on the procedure and the patient's clinical conditionAdministering general, spinal, obstetrical, pediatric, and thoracic anesthesiaPlacing and managing epiduralsPerforming peripheral nerve blocksPerforming Bier blocksPlacing central lines when clinically indicatedManaging airways and mechanical ventilationMonitoring patients throughout proceduresSupporting postoperative recovery and safe clinical handoffsResponding to anesthesia-related emergenciesParticipating in the department's call rotationCollaborating with Anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and operating-room personnelMaintaining complete and timely clinical documentationCandidate QualificationsQualified candidates should have:Graduate education from an accredited nurse-anesthesia programCurrent national CRNA certificationEligibility for CRNA licensure and practice authority in MaineCurrent BLS and ACLS certificationsClinical competency across the required anesthesia techniquesExperience with epidurals, peripheral nerve blocks, central lines, Bier blocks, airway management, and ventilationStrong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skillsExperienced CRNAs are encouraged to apply.
