About the Position

RN – Long-Term Care – Day Shift

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide quality nursing care in a long-term care setting in Cordova, Alaska. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in long-term care, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to support residents' daily healthcare needs while maintaining safety, comfort, and dignity.

The RN will assess residents' conditions, coordinate individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure effective, resident-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess residents' health conditions and identify changes requiring nursing intervention.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized resident care plans.

• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.

• Monitor residents' responses to treatments and report concerns promptly.

• Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.

• Maintain accurate resident records and clinical documentation.

• Support residents' daily healthcare needs while promoting comfort, dignity, and independence.

• Educate residents and families about care plans, medications, and treatment instructions.

• Follow infection-control procedures and established safety standards.

• Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and changes in residents' conditions.

• Ensure compliance with professional nursing standards and facility policies.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

• Active Alaska RN license or applicable compact RN privilege.

• Minimum of 2 years of Long-Term Care RN experience .

• Current BLS certification.

• Current ACLS certification.

• PALS certification preferred.

• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.

• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work the scheduled day shift and meet required holiday coverage expectations.

Schedule & Assignment Details

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks.

• Training Start Date: December 3, 2026.

• Floor Start Date: December 6, 2026.

• Shift: Days, 5:45 AM–6:15 PM.

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week, with no guarantee of specific daily hours.

• Setting: Long-Term Care (LTC).

• Overtime: After 40 hours per week, subject to applicable requirements.

• Holiday Coverage: Required.
