Licensed Vocational Nurse

Minimum Qualifications: •High school diploma or general education degree (GED) •Current valid California State License as a Licensed Vocational Nurse •Valid First Aid and CPR Certification •Ability to obtain a First Aid and CPR Instructor Certification within one year of hire •Valid CA driver's license •Any combination equivalent to one year of related experience; public school experience preferred.

Brief Description of Position: •Perform specialized health care services for students including but not limited to blood sugar testing, medication administration, catheterizations, drip and tube feeding administration. •Travel to various school sites within the district and perform a wide variety of nursing duties. •Assess illnesses and injuries and apply first aid as needed. •Respond to emergencies, evaluated condition of students and provide information to staff, students and parents regarding safety issues. •Operate specialized medical equipment and instruments in the assessment and treatment of individuals. •Assess and assist students with seizures; check for head lice, skin abnormalities and other conditions. •Performs other related duties as assigned.
