Together, we can shape the future for our students, our community, and for you!The major responsibilities include demonstrating prompt and regular attendance, providing instruction appropriate to the standards of the courses being taught, exhibiting professionalism in all job-related situations, following professional ethics in all work-related activities, presenting a personal appearance that enhances the image of the school, assuming a fair share of outside-the-classroom school responsibilities, adhering to local school procedures and regulations in a supportive manner, demonstrating loyalty to the school and its leadership, avoiding behavior that detracts from staff morale, working cooperatively with colleagues and the community, helping maintain a positive, cooperative climate, promoting a positive school environment that enhances student learning, maintaining plans according to policies and/or directives, promoting the responsible use of materials and equipment, submitting accurate paperwork on schedule, maintaining required work schedules in a punctual manner, demonstrating responsible attendance and use of leave, preparing adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent, accounting for student attendance and punctuality, following all district, state, and federal policies and procedures, directing the conduct of students in accordance with policies at all times, taking all reasonable measures to protect students' health and safety, seeking to improve through professional development and evaluation activities, maintaining prompt and professional communication with all stakeholders, participating in system athletic meetings as needed, being a liaison between all varsity coaches and system athletic directors, distributing athletic information as needed to include tryouts, practice schedules and cancellations, ticket sales, varsity coach visits, etc., handling athletic physicals by communicating dates, assisting with paperwork distribution and collection, and assisting with an actual trip to take athletes for physicals, assisting with the organization of middle school athletes, supervising afternoon transportation, communicating with coaches on attendance, communicating with coaches and system directors on potential athletes, collaborating with coaches and system directors to develop programs and activities to develop athletic programs in RCS, developing intramural athletic opportunities at the elementary level, and performing other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.Qualifications include a Bachelor Degree Certification/License, a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate or meeting eligibility requirements for a Georgia Induction Certificate, an acceptable criminal background check, the ability to perform routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities, and professional written and oral communication skills. The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.
