Job Duties
- Assess patients of all ages, utilizing both traditional assessments and observational insights to uncover their unique needs.
- Formulate individualized treatment plans addressing both immediate and long-standing communication, cognitive, and swallowing challenges.
- Implement targeted interventions focused on enhancing communication, language skills, fluency, vocal expression, and swallowing mechanics.
- Engage with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, caregivers, and medical staff, to promote cohesive treatment approaches.
- Provide essential education for patients and their families to support continued progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Occasionally conduct inpatient evaluations and provide therapy, ensuring a seamless treatment experience throughout the process.
- Document patient progress and therapeutic interventions accurately, adhering to state and federal regulations.
- Embrace ongoing professional growth and stay current with advancements in speech-language pathology through continued education and peer networking.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.
- Must hold a state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies catering to a diverse age range, with comprehensive knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
