Commercial Flooring Estimator

Job Description

Position Summary The Flooring Estimator is responsible for delivering accurate and timely material takeoffs, shop drawings, and bid support to the sales team across a wide range of commercial flooring projects. This role supports both large-scale ground-up construction and small- to mid-sized tenant fit-outs across multiple industries, including healthcare, education, retail, multi-family, office, manufacturing, and transportation.


Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed quantity takeoffs using Measure Square estimating software
• Develop and review shop drawings, layouts, and necessary revisions/retouches to support project bids
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and bid documents to ensure complete scope coverage
• Manage incoming Invitations to Bid (ITBs) and follow established SOPs from receipt through bid submission
• Deliver estimates and supporting documentation within required timelines aligned with bid deadlines
• Collaborate closely with the sales team and project managers to clarify scope, and project requirements
• Review third-party takeoffs for accuracy and completeness
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of flooring materials, systems, and installation methods
• Participate in weekly estimating meetings and contribute to continuous process improvement
• Demonstrate and actively strive to exemplify Brock’s core values in all interactions and work products
• Provide additional support and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in commercial flooring estimating or a related construction estimating role preferred
• Proficiency with Measure Square or similar estimating software
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
• Broad knowledge of flooring types and installation processes (e.g., carpet, LVT, tile, wood, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally

• Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment supporting multiple concurrent projects
• Regular interaction with sales, project management, and external partners
