Manager, Manufacturing Support Engineering

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Manager of Manufacturing Support Engineering to lead a team providing 24/7 equipment support at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in St. Louis. The role oversees preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment qualification, and reliability improvements while ensuring GMP compliance and production continuity.
Responsibilities
- Lead MSE team shift coverage, escalation processes, and staff development across 24/7 operations
- Plan, schedule, and manage preventive maintenance execution with closure tracking and deferred item assessment
- Prioritize work notifications and coordinate troubleshooting, repairs, vendor specialists, and quality approvals
- Apply PPI and root cause analysis to improve equipment reliability and prevent repeat failures
- Support equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and qualification with Capital Engineering
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent relevant experience
- 8+ years in GMP manufacturing environments
- 5+ years supporting pharmaceutical equipment maintenance and manufacturing
- Proficiency with maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office
- Strong knowledge of cGMP requirements and controlled documentation
- 2+ years supervisory experience preferred
