Manager, Transportation

Overview RXO is a leading provider of transportation solutions that revolutionizes how shippers and carriers move goods across North America with advanced technology and a massive network. What you’ll do Maintain responsibility for overall P&L to meet established budgets and forecasts. Ensure effective operational communication and relationships with company drivers. Oversee tractor maintenance, compliance, and service delivery. Track operational performance, including route configuration, on-time pickup and delivery, volume, equipment balance, and empty miles. Ensure driver recruiting and retention meet established fleet size goals. Identify opportunities to increase performance, improve processes, and find efficiencies, coordinating with leaders to implement solutions. Investigate and determine root causes of all service failures; implement corrective actions. Develop and modify operational policies and procedures to meet customer service requirements. Maintain a safe work environment and foster a positive team dynamic, resolving employee relations issues and administering corrective action as required. Ensure annual profit, efficiency, and quality goals are attained at each client engagement. Direct capital expenditure and asset deployment activities. Serve in a customer-facing role that requires daily interaction with decision makers. Perform safety‑sensitive job functions such as pulling tankers, filling tankers on site, trailer shuttle work, inspect load securement, forklift work, and training new drivers. What you’ll need to excel 4 years of transportation experience. In‑depth knowledge of the supply chain and logistics industry. Availability to travel occasionally. Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience (preferred). Project management skills and experience. Proven leadership and collaboration skills with experience supervising, mentoring, and influencing employees. Fleet management and maintenance experience. Experience in Transportation Management Systems and telematics such as Omnitracs. Understanding of DOT rules and regulations. Solid customer relationship management skills. Class A CDL and tanker endorsement (as applicable). Physical Requirements Lift objects up to 25 lbs. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
