About us
Next Gen Vintage Collective is Chicago's designer vintage collective, opening fall 2026. We're not a shop — we're a curated home for the city's best independent vintage resellers, each bringing their own eye, their own sourcing, and their own inventory under one roof. We handle the space, the systems, and the community; our resellers handle what they do best.
The role
We're looking for a part-time Sales Associate to be the face of the collective on the floor. You'll be working directly with customers browsing pieces from 10-15 different resellers, helping them find what they didn't know they were looking for, and making the shopping experience feel personal instead of transactional. This is a great fit for someone who genuinely loves fashion, vintage, and styling — not just retail as a paycheck.
At Next Gen, we call this role The Keyholder — you're the person who brings the whole floor to life for our customers every shift.
What you'll do
- Greet and assist customers on the floor, offering styling suggestions and product knowledge across a rotating mix of designer vintage inventory
- Process sales, returns, and exchanges through our POS system
- Keep the space tidy, well-merchandised, and photo-ready throughout your shift
- Help restock and organize pieces as resellers bring in new inventory
- Build relationships with regular customers and represent the brand's tone in every interaction — warm, knowledgeable, never pushy
- Support occasional in-store events, pop-ups, or content shoots
- Flag inventory issues, customer feedback, or operational needs to the Store Manager
What we're looking for
- Some retail or customer service experience preferred, but not required — attitude and genuine interest in fashion matter more xhyhwjd
- A real eye for style; you notice details, you can talk about a piece without sounding scripted
- Reliable and punctual, comfortable working weekends and some evenings
- Comfortable using a POS system (or willing to learn quickly)
- Friendly, low-ego, and collaborative — you'll be working alongside resellers and founders, not just clocking in and out
Why join us
- You'd be joining at the ground floor of something new in Chicago retail, surrounded by incredible pieces and the people who source them. If you love vintage, love talking to people, and want a job that doesn't feel like just a job, this is it.
