Rise Neurorehab Institute is a future-forward nonprofit neurorehab organization committed to identifying and removing the barriers that prevent individuals from receiving the post-acute care they need and deserve, all while helping to regain function, reignite courage, and rekindle hope after neurological injury or illness.

Rise is building a new model of neurological care in Georgia. Opening in Sandy Springs, GA in Winter 2027, our initial multi-disciplinary outpatient facility is only the beginning. Rise is also developing a comprehensive, state-of-the-art neurorehabilitation residential facility — a multi-acre campus designed to unite rehabilitation medicine and therapies with similar-missioned community organizations in a way that has never existed in our region. This future home will offer 75+ beds for specialized residential rehabilitation, comprehensive care from rehab experts, cutting-edge technology and innovation, and community programs that provide a complete continuum of post-acute care for individuals and families throughout their recovery journey.

Rehabilitation Aide

As a Rehabilitation Aide at Rise Neurorehab Institute, you’ll work directly alongside licensed physical and occupational therapists, providing hands-on support to individuals recovering from brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, and other complex neurological conditions — working with both pediatric (age 8+) and adult patients. You’ll assist with patient preparation, transfers, mobility, and equipment care, helping create a safe, welcoming environment for every person who comes through our doors. Requirements:

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in creating a welcoming environment for patients and families.
• Assist the supervising therapist with direct patient care activities, remaining under direct therapist supervision at all times.
• Observe patients during treatment and report any changes in condition immediately to the supervising therapist.
• Prepare patients for treatment or evaluation, assisting with transfers, positioning, and equipment setup, using safe body mechanics under direct therapist supervision.
• Transport patients safely throughout the facility using wheelchairs, gait belts, or other assistive devices as appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinic and gym area, including equipment safety checks, supply inventory, and infection control practices.
• Complete assigned clerical duties and support administrative tasks as needed.
• Help orient newly hired staff and volunteers to facility procedures and daily operations.
• Support meeting and in-service preparation, and actively participate in staff meetings and center-wide initiatives.
• Supports Rise's ongoing pursuit of CARF accreditation by maintaining compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic computer skills sufficient to support administrative tasks.
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and eagerness to build job-related clinical support skills.
• Basic familiarity with neurological diagnoses commonly treated in neurorehabilitation, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, and vestibular disorders.
• Awareness of age-specific considerations when supporting patients across the lifespan, from pediatric to geriatric populations.
• Knowledge of safe body mechanics principles applicable to patient handling, transfers, and repositioning.

Physical Demands

• Frequent movement throughout the clinic, treatment areas, and gym spaces, with periods of sitting for clerical tasks.
• Ability to safely transfer and position patients under direct therapist supervision, including lifting up to 30 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to push and pull up to 30 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally, including wheelchairs and therapy equipment.
• Repetitive hand, wrist, and upper extremity movements while assisting with patient care.
• Visual acuity sufficient to observe patient movement, posture, and functional performance, and to read equipment displays.
• Hearing sufficient to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members, and to monitor equipment and facility alerts.
• May include community-based treatment activities in outdoor or public settings, as appropriate.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent education.

Required Licensure / Certification:

• BLS certification (active within two (2) weeks of hire and maintained annually).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• At least one (1) year recent clinical experience preferred.
• Experience with complex neurological populations (Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Stroke).
• Experience with pediatric populations (ages 8+).
