Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Welder / Fabricator to join our production team in Big Lake, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for layout, fitting, and welding custom pressure vessels and industrial storage tanks in accordance with engineering blueprints and strict ASME quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabrication & Fitting: Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and engineering drawings to lay out, position, align, and fit metal components for custom tanks and pressure vessels.
• Welding Operations: Perform high-quality structural and leak-tight welds using GMAW (MIG) , FCAW (Flux-Cored) , and GTAW (TIG) welding processes on carbon steel and stainless steel.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate metal fabrication machinery including plate rollers, shearers, ironworkers, plasma cutters, grinders, and overhead cranes.
• ASME Code Compliance: Ensure all welds meet ASME Code, AWS, and company quality specifications for pressure testing and visual/non-destructive inspection (NDI).
• Material Prep & Finishing: Prepare joint surfaces by grinding, beveling, or cutting; clean and finish welds to meet customer specifications.
• Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized work area and strictly adhere to all OSHA and shop safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Verifiable professional welding and metal fabrication experience (experience with tank, pipe, or pressure vessel fabrication preferred).
• Technical Skills:
• • Proficient in MIG and Flux-Cored welding; TIG experience on stainless steel is a strong plus.
  • Strong print-reading skills and direct knowledge of standard weld symbols.
  • Experience working with heavy plate steel and cylindrical structures (rolling, fitting heads, nozzles, and flanges).
• Certifications: Ability to pass shop weld tests (AWS / ASME standards). Current weld certifications are a plus.
• Physical Demands:
• • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces (inside tanks) and at elevated heights when required.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
