Claims Adjuster Trainee

National General Insurance is currently hiring for an auto Telephone Claims Adjuster Trainee. The role investigates and confirms facts of loss for automobile accidents, determines coverage, liability, and damages, and adjusts and negotiates claims within authority. This trainee position is part of the West Coast claims team and requires availability Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm Pacific Time. The trainee role offers hands‑on learning, support, and the opportunity to build a strong foundation in auto claims. Key Responsibilities Investigate basic aspects of auto claims, including coverage, liability, and damages. Identify customer needs and apply appropriate customer‑service skills to meet those needs. Apply a basic understanding of systems and technology used within the company. Partner to determine subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle it. Demonstrate a basic understanding of insurance policies written by the company and industry relationships. Recognize and identify body parts of a vehicle and other potential property damage. As a requirement of employment, individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment. Applicants who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed by the licensing team. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not include supervisory duties.
