Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse for a high-acuity, fast-paced setting caring for patients who require advanced monitoring and intervention beyond traditional telemetry but below intensive care unit level. The role supports complex patients with cardiac, respiratory, metabolic, renal, and withdrawal-related conditions while managing frequent admissions, transfers, and changes in patient status.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree; active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license or Compact Registered Nurse license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, high-turnover Progressive Care Unit environment.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including every third weekend, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Holiday coverage is based on unit staffing needs, with at least one holiday required.
- Additional Information: The unit cares for medically complex patients following cardiac catheterization, myocardial infarction, cardiac stent placement, cardiac ablation, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, and Watchman procedures, as well as stable post-open-heart patients following line removal. Patient care may include transvenous pacemakers, respiratory failure, bilevel positive airway pressure, insulin infusions, kidney or other organ failure, and alcohol or drug withdrawal. The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3 based on patient acuity. Orientation is scheduled for 11/11/2026. Extended vacation from 12/23 through 01/03 cannot be accommodated, although an individual holiday off may be considered.
