Obstetrics / Med Surg RN | Travel Contract

Location: Atlantic, IA

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Night Shift

Hours: 36 Hours Guaranteed

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and newborn patients.

• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout the obstetric care continuum.

• Assist with labor and delivery procedures and postpartum care.

• Float to the Medical-Surgical unit as needed based on patient census.

• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.

• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.

• Document patient care, assessments, and outcomes using EPIC EMR.

• Collaborate with physicians, pediatric teams, and interdisciplinary healthcare staff.

• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.

• Maintain compliance with nursing standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN).

• Active Iowa RN License or Compact RN License required.

• Current ACLS certification.

• Current BLS/BCLS certification.

• Current PALS certification.

• Current NRP certification.

• Ability to work in both Obstetrics and Medical-Surgical settings.

• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient care skills.

• Flexibility to float between departments as needed.
