Oncology Advanced Practice Provider Position Summary: The UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Clinical Nurse Specialist with Prescriptive authority to join our Gastrointestinal Oncology team. The candidate will be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary healthcare team and will work directly with Oncologists to provide care to patients undergoing treatment at the UNM Cancer Center outpatient clinic. UNM will provide Hepatitis vaccination; candidate may decline vaccination through a declination form or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer. Specialty mid-level Oncology certification may become a requirement for positions in this classification. Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check. May be subject to credentialing process; must maintain credentialed status, if applicable. Must maintain certification and/or licensure status. May be required to complete department‑specific professional development activities. Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist certification program; current certification as a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Clinical Nurse Specialist with Prescriptive authority. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year‑for‑year basis. Preferred Qualifications One to three years previous experience as a nurse practitioner, physician’s assistant or clinical nurse specialist with prescriptive authority. Bilingual in English/Spanish. Three to five years of previous oncology experience. Clinical Trials experience. Additional Requirements Finalists should be prepared to provide official educational transcripts if selected for hire.
