Bag Machine Operator - 3rd Shift (11pm-7am) Brookshire, TX Compensation Starting Pay Rate of $18.75/hour + $1/hr shift differential Overview Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, Adjuster and Team Lead, the Bag Machine Operator will operate the machine, visually inspecting outgoing products to ensure quality and pack/stack bundles of bags dispensed from the machine. The Operator will ensure production efficiency and quality output. Responsibilities Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures Check bags for quality defects off the machine, perform all quality checks and paperwork as per Quality Policy Follow all quality policies and procedures, complying with all good manufacturing practices Comply with all safety practices and guidelines including PPE requirements Safely and efficiently: change roll, make splice by hand, maneuver roll into position, adhere roll to web on machine, adjust paper rolls; start, stop and monitor bag machinery and ensure it runs at the required speed; thread paper through machine smoothly as required; package bags as specified; ensure correct quantities of bags are placed on the press Report machine adjustments and repairs that are required to Machine tender, Adjuster and/or Supervisor Submit accurate production reports daily and timely Meet/achieve safety, quality, production waste and housekeeping goals set forth by management Qualifications Prefer to have a High School Diploma or GED Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment Capable of communicating with all levels of internal and external customers Must be able to think on your feet, work with limited supervision and make sound decisions Should possess basic mechanical skills and troubleshooting abilities Must be capable of standing for long periods of time Ability to frequently lift and carry 50 lbs Regularly required to stand, sit, move about facility, climb stairs, bend, twist, kneel, crouch or crawl, use hands and fingers to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, and controls, grasp, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, lift above shoulder level; specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
